Contract Details and Role in Provisions of Works and Services
Systematic was designated the prime contractor for the site and was responsible for the overall safety of the project. As well, we were responsible for the overall scheduling of sub-contractors and associated contractor activities. The project features a critical 28 day shutdown to remove the existing transfer system and integrate the new dual conveyor and transfer system with the existing operation.
C-002 Conveyor 107 Coal Terminal Capacity Upgrade:
Contract C-002 included the installation of a new coal conveyor and transfer tower system for the rail car unloading facility at Neptune Terminals. The scope of work included the supply of material, labour and services to install a 13 meter high transfer tower and a new twin 700 HP drive system for a 72” wide inclined coal conveyor. The project features a critical 7 day shutdown to integrate the new conveyor and transfer system with the existing operation. The Seven day shutdown and subsequent start-up schedule was successfully completed.
C-010 Main Works Install Coal Terminal Capacity Upgrade:
C-010 was a contract for the structural and mechanical installation of dual conveying system that interconnects the rail car unloading facility with the ship loading facility. The scope of work included the removal and reinstallation of approximately 1000 feet of a 72” wide conveying system, the installation of a new 1000 ft. long conveying system with four x 700 HP drive system, a 14 meter high transfer tower placed on top of a 23 meter high surge bin and a 100 meter long truss gallery structure that interconnects the yard conveyors to the top of the new transfer tower.
C-011 Berm Rehabilitation – Rail beam and Slab Installation:
C-011 was for an installation of a new precast concrete rail bed foundation system for a twin coal stacker/reclaimer operation. This 3 phase project involved a great deal of coordination with operations to ensure that there was minimal disruption to the coal terminal operations.
C-010 and C-011 were both successfully completed on schedule including a plant 28 day shut down.
